The Oil Museum of Canada
The museum is located on the site of North America's first commercial oil well.
James Miller Williams dug the well in 1858.

The Grounds

Visitors from around the world have viewed the indoor and outdoor exhibits.
Outside, on the spacious landscaped grounds, are the reconstructed William's Well, the first to produce oil commercially and other working wells and exhibits depicting the first methods used to extract "black gold" from the earth.

Open year round: May 1 to October 31 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) November 1 to April 30 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday)

Directions:

From Highway 402 take 21 South
(Wyoming turn-off) to Oil Springs.

Look for our National Historic Site Sign.
